(2022_13) Survival of the Friendliest - Brian Hare

At the outset I just thought that this is a book about sociology, but it's not; it is about evolution. According to the author, the one of main reasons in Homo Sapiens' success is our friendliness to others. It makes us survive through millions of years while other primate, like Neanderthals, eventually became extinct. A man is weak, but WE are strong. Our friendliness makes it possible. However, this is a double edge to us. We are as hostile to people in external group as we are kind to people in our group. Human history proves it. The, what can we do to avoid this hostility? The author suggests we need more contact between others in different group. Be their friend. Share feelings. Live together. In the era of low birth rates, his suggestion implies a lot of things to think about.
